RestauRent vs Tagvenue pricing

How much does RestauRent cost

RestauRent costs $99 per month per location after a three-month free trial, with no marketplace booking commission. The subscription is month-to-month and can be canceled anytime.

For an operator building a recurring private-events business, that creates a straightforward marketing expense. Booking another dinner or increasing an event’s food-and-beverage spend does not increase the marketplace subscription.

How much does Tagvenue charge

Tagvenue’s standard marketplace listing is free. For U.S. venues using its Invoice Payment Method, the published commission is generally 10% for categories such as dining, bars and restaurants.

The rate is 15% for meetings, production and dry hire, including when those categories use invoice payments. Tagvenue’s terms also specify a 15% rate for all bookings at a venue when its Online Payment Method is enabled for any of its rooms.

The commission can apply to more than a room rental fee. Tagvenue’s calculation guidance includes food and beverage, bar sales, minimum spend, packages and service charges. Its U.S. calculation includes applicable sales tax.

What the pricing difference means for your venue

Consider one U.S. location generating the same monthly commissionable booking spend through either platform, using Tagvenue’s 10% invoice-based hospitality rate.

Monthly commissionable booking spendTagvenue at 10%RestauRent subscription after trial
$0$0$99
$1,000$100$99
$5,000$500$99
$10,000$1,000$99

At $5,000 in monthly commissionable spend, the marketplace fee difference is $401 for that month. At $10,000, it is $901.

The fees are equal at $990 in monthly commissionable spend: $990 × 10% = $99. Above that amount, RestauRent’s subscription is lower than the modeled Tagvenue commission.

These are illustrative fee comparisons, not booking forecasts or profit estimates. The spend figures represent the full commissionable amount, including applicable tax. The comparison excludes payment-processing costs, optional products and event operating expenses, and does not include RestauRent’s free-trial savings.

A free listing can be appealing when bookings are occasional. As your event business grows, a fixed subscription becomes easier to spread across multiple bookings.

Why RestauRent can be a better fit for hospitality businesses

More room in the budget for food beverage and service

A private dinner has costs beyond reserving a room. Your team buys ingredients, schedules staff, prepares the space and serves the guests. When commission applies to the event’s broader spend, it becomes another cost to account for in the quote.

RestauRent’s fixed marketplace subscription gives hospitality operators a clear advantage when booking volume supports it: the marketplace cost does not rise with every additional guest, menu upgrade or bar package.

For a restaurant trying to grow a private dining program, that makes it easier to plan acquisition spending around a monthly budget.

A focus on the events hospitality venues want to host

RestauRent connects venues with planners looking for private events. Its offering serves restaurants, bars, breweries, wineries, hotels and dedicated event spaces.

For hospitality operators, relevant opportunities include:

  • Corporate dinners and client entertainment.
  • Birthday parties and milestone celebrations.
  • Holiday parties and team gatherings.
  • Engagement parties, showers and rehearsal dinners.
  • Private dining and larger venue buyouts.

A useful venue profile should make those experiences easy to understand. Show the room layout, seated and standing capacities, menu options and the atmosphere guests can expect.

Tagvenue also serves restaurants and private dining. RestauRent’s case for hospitality businesses rests on its event focus combined with a commission-free marketplace subscription.

Tools that support the inquiry and follow-up process

RestauRent combines a venue profile with inquiry, booking and client-communication tools. Its published offering includes an event dashboard, mobile-friendly booking forms, analytics and onboarding support.

For a busy manager, the practical benefit is having a place to organize the conversation as a request becomes a proposed event. Responding with availability, a suitable package and a clear next step helps the planner move toward a decision.

How event bookings differ on RestauRent and Tagvenue

Both platforms help planners discover venues and contact their teams. The main differences are their marketplace focus, payment workflows and how venues pay for the business they acquire.

On RestauRent, a venue builds its profile, receives inquiries and works with prospective clients to confirm an event that fits. This supports the conversations hospitality bookings often require: guest counts, menus, minimum spend, timing and room setup.

Tagvenue serves a wider range of space-hire needs, including restaurants, party venues, meeting rooms, studios and filming locations. Catered events can follow an inquiry-and-quote process, while eligible fixed-price spaces can use online booking requests subject to venue confirmation. Tagvenue also offers venue-management tools.

For a restaurant, the distinction is therefore not whether a platform can handle a private dinner. Both can. The decision is whether the resulting bookings justify a percentage-based acquisition cost or a fixed monthly subscription.

Which platform should your venue choose

RestauRent is a strong choice if you want to grow a hospitality events program and keep marketplace costs predictable as booking value increases. It is especially worth evaluating when your target business includes group dining, catered celebrations and recurring corporate events.

Tagvenue may suit operators who prefer a free listing with commission-based costs, or whose spaces serve a mix of hospitality, meeting and production bookings.

Compare the channels using completed events and the revenue remaining after acquisition and delivery costs. During a trial, track inquiry fit, response time, confirmed bookings and event value. An inquiry is an opportunity; a confirmed, profitable event is the result that matters.
